Cheap Car Rental Cape Town 

​​​Drivers License

All renters must hold valid drivers licenses and identity documents/passport in order to rent a vehicle. We accept a valid drivers license from other countries.

​

Insurance

All vehicles are covered by our comprehensive insurance policy which also covers third party up to the amount of R10 milion. An Excess of R5000 is payable in the case of an accident and is the maximum amount that you are liable for if all other terms and conditions were adhered to.

 

​Additional Drivers
Additional drivers are welcome. An admin fee of R 250.00 will be charged per additional driver for the entire duration of the contract. (limited to 3 additional drivers per rental) The additional drivers name must be on the original contract in order for the insurance to be activated. (Drivers license, Passport/Identity document are required.)

During the rental period, the vehicle may not be driven by any other person than the renter himself or the additional driver whose name is on the original contract.

​Deposit and Payment
A R3000 deposit is required to rent a car from Happy Car Rental. 

​

Monthly rental for the vehicle is payed in advance and can be paid on a month to month basis via an electronic cash deposit. 

​

​Airport shuttle service
a) We can shuttle client to our offices, where a contract is filled in and a vehicle is released Price: From R150.00 to R250.00 (office hours) and From R250.00 to R350 (after hours), depending on normal working day/public holiday or time of shuttle.

​

b) We can deliver the vehicle to the client, contract is filled, vehicle is released. Price: From R200.00 to R300.00 depending on day/ time and distance.

​

c) We can shuttle/deliver a vehicle within the greater Cape Town area, from R300 to R500.

​

​Petrol
All vehicles will be returned with the same fuel level as when it left the Happy Car Rental depot. (All vehicles take ULP95 unless otherwise stated on the contract)

​

​Traffic Offenses
The renter is responsible for all the fines and traffic offenses/monies will be withdrawn from deposit, including a R250.00 administration fee for owner handling correspondence with the Traffic Department.

​

​Travelling
If you travel further than 250Km outside of Cape Town, you must first discuss this with the owner or allocated manager.
 

There will be a travel fee charged depending on the destination.

​Travel Fees: Additional fees for distances 250kms or further from Cape Town

Garden Route (All vehicles) - R500.00 within 750km radius of Cape Town
National travel (Newer vehicles only) - R1200

​

​Cancellation
The renter may cancel the contract with Happy Car Rentals, however a cancellation fee is payable. Cancellation fee is 30% of the remaining contract. 

​

Roadside assistance is included in the cost of your rental.

- Immediate roadside mechanical assistance nationally.

- Key lock-out service.

- Flat battery service.

- Flat tyre service.

- fuel to reach petrol station service (petrol are for the renter's account)
